                  Medical Coding is the transformation of healthcare diagnosis and the medical records of a patient by a healthcare professional or a doctor into billable codes. Medical billing is the process of billing these alphanumeric codes to insurance companies to claim insurance for their payment. The diagnoses and procedure codes are taken from medical classification systems, such as the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT).
